This photograph was taken by Jesse Wright in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. “One of the things about shooting with an iPhone is that it treats the light in interesting ways because there’s a super-hot bright spot, and there’s these dark darks,” Roberts says. “It could be seen as a limitation in an iPhone — only a certain amount of control, and you have to sort of deal with the way the camera decides to deal with the light. [WIth this photo,] I like the idea that he was turned a limitation of the iPhone into a strength.”
